Amlikar - Art of Embroidery Pashmina Shawl

First emerged as a replika of Kani shawl designs, embroidery shawls soon became a popular choice for shawl makers and the common audience for their affordability and flexibility.

Designs are hand pressed on woven pashmina fabric using a speical charcoal based ink, then passed on to the embroidery artist who will spend hundreds to thousands of hours stitching the designs and colors. An Amlikar shawl with complex design and color palette can take 12-18 months to complete.

Our selection of embroidery pashmina shawl range from the basic, classic designs that are wearable every day, to what we call couture quality shawls that are unique, exclusive. and collectible.

Today embroidery is mostly done using cotton or silk threads on cashmere shawl. Silk embroidery shawls are highly desirable as they are extremely light, intricate and luxurious looking.
